Message from the
National Chairman
Jlator Nah Gewleh, MPA.

Congratulations! You have remained united and committed to the National Krao Association in the Americas, Inc. for seventeen years.

Just few days ago, we bided goodbye to 2007, and welcomed the New Year, 2008 with joy. Simply to reflect, the national Krao Association made some strides in the past year, and realized certain goals. Few of the goals include implementation of the initial steps in the Environment Phase of Project-Liberia in New Kr u Town, Liberia; reformation of the Baltimore Metropolitan Chapter in the State of Maryland, USA.

Also, we reactivated the community consciousness of our brothers and sisters in the State of North Carolina, and energized the idea of forming alliances with other nonprofit organizations, such as, the Liberia Environmental Watch (LEW), and the Liberia history, Education and Development Enterprise (LIHEDE), whose executive directors are willingly active in fostering the NKAA’s positive social change agenda.

Our Association and these organizations believe that service to the needy people in Liberia should be the primary mission of any Liberian entity such as our organization in the United States of America. And, this administration continues to insist that through collaborations and partnerships, the National Krao Association shall achieve its objectives with ease.
Reflecting on my year-end and new-year greetings, I wish to recall that our association and some members of the Krao Community have experienced lasting losses. Ms. Marie Botoe Johnson, local chair of the Baltimore Metropolitan Chapter lost her dear husband in Liberia, and the Minnesota Chapter lost its former Vice-Chairlady, the late Ms. Olive Nah. This association sincerely grieves with their families and the respective chapters as these losses typify our destiny as people on earth. The NKAA strongly prays with the Johnson and Nah families for comfort and peace. And, in similar context, our administration urges the bereaved families not to allow the losses overwhelm their lives. May the souls of the dearly departed rest in peace!

Moreover, the challenges for us on earth as a community association should be met with persistent vigor. 2008 presents an opportunity to the NKAA to make a difference in the lives of our people. The administrative team salutes you with hope, and in confidence that your commitment to the mission of the NKAA will grow stronger. That being said, you shall soon receive a letter of reminder intended to call your attention to the General Assembly’s decisions in the past year and preceding years regarding decisions fulfillment and implementation deficits that continue to plague our national organization.

In sum, this administration applauds your efforts in the past seventeen years, and challenges you to renew your commitment to the NKAA’s mission with success and good health.

Barpopuleaboh…Let’s Unite!!
